Mullein Tea Guide
Educational information only. This guide focuses on preparation quality: brew method, filtration, and how to avoid the “floaty” texture many people dislike.
The 60-Second Method
- Use hot (not boiling) water.
- Steep 10-15 minutes.
- Strain through a fine filter. Optional: coffee filter for extra smoothness.
Why Straining Matters
Mullein leaf has tiny hairs. Fine filtration is the difference between a cup people love and a cup they never make again.
Taste Notes
Mullein is usually mild. Many people describe it as gentle, grassy, or neutral. Sweeteners or blend herbs (mint, ginger, honey) can make it feel more “finished.”
Common Brewing Mistakes
- Under-straining (most common)
- Boiling water that tastes harsher
- Humidity storage that turns leaf musty
Choose Your Leaf
- Whole (Cut) Leaf - often easier to strain.
- Ground Leaf - easy measuring and fast blends (strain well).
